Project Spotlight MEP for the Gower Pool & Club House Expansion
Scout Mechanical, a Carolinas commercial MEP contractor, brought all three of its divisions to the Gower Pool & Clubhouse Expansion.
Our HVAC, plumbing and electrical teams worked together throughout the build as the facility added new amenities, expanded gathering areas and upgraded several existing spaces across the property.
Scope of the Pool & Clubhouse Expansion
The project involved new construction, renovations and outdoor upgrades across the facility, with all three trades coordinating around the same timeline.
The project included:
- Expansion of the existing clubhouse
- A new pool storage building near the existing lap pool
- A new family and kids pool
- Modernization of the existing bathrooms
- New restrooms added within the clubhouse expansion
- New exterior lighting and ceiling fans around the pool area
- Upgrades to the existing HVAC system serving the clubhouse
A Bigger, More Modern Facility
The finished project significantly expanded both the size and the use of the facility. With new pool areas, covered gathering spaces and an upgraded clubhouse, the property now feels even more open and ready for many family-friendly seasons ahead.
Coordinating a Multi-Trade Build
A project like this has a multitude of moving parts. New construction, renovations, outdoor utility work and clubhouse upgrades were all happening at the same time, so communication between trades played a major role in keeping the project moving smoothly.
Because Scout handled HVAC, plumbing and electrical in-house, the team was able to coordinate schedules, installation timelines and field changes through one group instead of multiple contractors working independently.
What Each Team Handled
Commercial Plumbing Restrooms & Bathroom Renovations
Scout’s plumbing division handled rough-in and finish plumbing for the new restrooms while also updating the existing bathrooms inside the clubhouse. That included upgrading fixtures, supply lines and drain systems throughout the space.
Commercial HVAC Clubhouse System Modernization
On the HVAC side, Scout upgraded the existing system serving the clubhouse, so it could better support both the original building and the new addition. The updated system now operates more efficiently and provides more reliable comfort throughout the expanded facility.
Commercial Electrical Pool Deck Lighting & Fans
Around the new pool and clubhouse areas, Scout’s electrical team installed exterior lighting and ceiling fans built for outdoor and wet-area use. Electrical work near pool decks comes with specific code requirements for fixture ratings, conduit and grounding, all of which had to coordinate cleanly with the new construction. It’s not particularly flashy work, but rather exactly the kind that keeps a pool deck safe and reliable through long summer days.
Why Owners Choose a Commercial MEP Contractor
Gower is a good example of why many owners and general contractors prefer working with a single commercial MEP contractor. Having HVAC, plumbing and electrical under one roof helps reduce delays, improve communication and simplify coordination throughout the build.
Full-Service MEP Across the Carolinas
Scout Mechanical is a commercial MEP contractor providing full-service HVAC, plumbing and electrical work throughout the Carolinas for commercial renovations, amenity expansions, tenant buildouts and ground-up projects. Our team stays involved from early planning through final walkthroughs to help keep projects moving.
Come summer, the new pool will be full of kids playing, the deck full of families mingling, and the clubhouse buzzing the way a great neighborhood pool should. We’re glad to have been able to play a part.
